The Toronto Welsh Dragons RFC are pleased to welcome Penarth RFC, who are touring Central Canada in late May. As part of their tour, they will be visiting Montreal, Ottawa and finally Toronto, where they will finish their tour. The Dragons will play a match against Penarth on Thursday 30th May at Eglinton Flats, kicking off at 6.30pm on the rugby fields.
Club president Jim Quattrociocchi said ‘We are pleased to welcome our visitors from South Wales to Toronto, as we embark on a rebranding exercise in order to reconnect with our club’s historic Welsh identity. This is the first time in a number of years our senior men’s team will have hosted a touring side, and we are excited to further this longstanding rugby tradition’.
The Toronto Welsh Dragons play in the Toronto Rugby Union (TRU) competition, and routinely field two senior men’s teams each weekend. In addition, we have thriving juniors and minis programmes, welcoming participants from age 5 to 50, and new players are always welcome. Anyone interested in joining is encouraged to come out to practice, every Tuesday and Thursday from April to August at Eglinton Flats (northwest corner Jane Street and Eglinton Avenue West) from 6.30pm until 8.00pm.
